Bio

Dr. Katherine King holds a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College, a Masters of Science from Drexel University, a Medical Degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and a Masters of Public Health Degree from the School of Public Health at Drexel University. Katherine spent her medical career in the field of Pediatrics performing postgraduate training and fellowships at Harvard Medical School Children’s Hospital and the University of Minnesota. Her faculty appointments include roles as Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics at Boston University’s School of Medicine, Assistant Professor in Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Miami’s School of Medicine, Associate Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship Training Program at the University of Miami’s School of Medicine, and Associate Professor in Clinical Pediatrics at the Sidney Kimmel School of Medicine Thomas Jefferson University.

Katherine has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades over her forty year career in medicine including the Young Investigator Award: American Lung Association of Florida, Outstanding Contribution in Teaching Award from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Robert A. Doughty Award Finalist from Nemours, Delaware Today and Main Line Health Top Doctor recognition for Pediatric Pulmonology, to name a few. Katherine has served in several leadership roles in the Chapter and National American Academy of Pediatrics.

Katherine is an active member of Christ Church One Hundred in Wilmington and served on committees of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund Association. Katherine was a member of Ursuline Academy’s Board of Trustees for two previous three year terms from 2011 through 2017. Katherine resides in Wilmington with her husband Dr. Gerard Kuhn and their daughter, Madeleine Kuhn Meyyappan, who is a graduate of Ursuline’s Class of 2008.
