After her graduation from Ursuline, Judy worked in the Blood Bank at Wilmington General. Starting in the early 1980s, Judy began volunteering at Delaware Hospice and developed her passion for helping the terminally ill, especially those affected with HIV/AIDS. She followed this calling to volunteer in Kenya starting in 2004.
Between 2004 through 2008, Judy spent more than 28 months in Kenya working with terminally ill patients and their families, running a guest house, and organizing a club for adolescent children who were living with HIV-infected parents.
Judy has also volunteered her time in the Ninth Ward in New Orleans serving in a medical aid unit after Hurricane Katrina. She has volunteered locally at Friendship House, Sojourners House, on the Ursuline Alumnae Association Board, and through her parish, St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
